Job Summary:
The Maritime Training Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and delivering comprehensive training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of maritime personnel within the organization. They will collaborate with various stakeholders to identify training needs, design effective training modules, and deliver engaging training sessions to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
Responsibilities:
1. Assess training needs by conducting thorough evaluations of maritime personnel, identifying skill gaps, and reviewing industry requirements.
2. Design and develop comprehensive training programs for different levels of maritime personnel, including deck officers, engineers, and crew members, to enhance their knowledge and proficiency.
3. Develop training materials, including presentations, manuals, e-learning modules, and practical exercises, ensuring they align with industry regulations and organizational requirements.
4. Deliver engaging and interactive training sessions to maritime personnel, utilizing various instructional techniques and technologies to maximize learning outcomes.
5. Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to measure the effectiveness of training programs, analyze feedback, and make necessary improvements to enhance training quality.
6. Collaborate with subject matter experts, internal stakeholders, and external training providers to ensure training programs are up-to-date, relevant, and compliant with industry standards.
7. Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and advancements in maritime operations to incorporate the latest knowledge and practices into training programs.
8. Maintain accurate records of training activities, including attendance, participant evaluations, and training completion certificates.
9. Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to maritime training and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
10. Provide guidance and support to maritime personnel, addressing their training-related queries, concerns, and needs promptly and professionally.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in maritime operations, with a focus on training and development.
3. In-depth knowledge of maritime regulations, industry best practices, and training methodologies.
4. Strong understanding of maritime safety, security, and environmental standards.
5. Proven experience in instructional design, curriculum development, and training delivery.
6. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and instruct diverse groups of maritime personnel.
7. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to effectively manage training programs and documentation.
8. Proficiency in using training software, learning management systems, and multimedia tools.
9. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
10. Valid certifications or licenses related to maritime operations and training, such as STCW (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers), are highly desirable.
